Writing for CREATEaPRO has been a bunch of fun so far. I’ve had a lot of good feedback, but have yet to hear from the majority of my readers.
Have something you’d like me to cover? Not sure about how something might apply to your situation? Want to add some of your experiences? Or maybe you have a suggestion for how I can improve this little project of mine? Register and leave me a comment!
Also, if you know of anyone who might benefit from the stuff on this site, let them know by sending them a link. Or, if you have a website, blog, or podcast and would like to link to or otherwise plug this site, please do. The more readers and contributors I can get on here, the better for everyone.
Thank you folks so much for making this such a pleasure to write week after week.

Alright, here you go John. I have posted you promo writeup on my site with lots of links. I have really enjoyed reading through all the posts here. Some really great insite. It’s all the great tips you and suggesttions you have given me over thears in one place! Now perhaps I can remember to use them once in a while.
I can’t express how much I look forward to seeing this site grow and how it will help myself and all the other artists envolved!
Thanks again
Joe
I’ve often thought about setting up a website to explain a lot of the basic conventions of creative work, like standards and practices, legal issues, etc. Many artists deal with clients who don’t know how this stuff is supposed to work, and many artists also don’t know. I can think of many examples of misunderstandings that could have been avoided if such a site existed. Specific rights in transactions for creative works is an area that needs to be nailed down certainly. Providing a number of standardized legal contracts for artists as pdf documents would be a nice touch too.
There is a website devoted to explaining copyright laws, something that I often have to explain to people who have misconceptions about. I think addressing copyright issues is important too, and should be connected to such a site, including examples explaining why things work the way they do.
Something else that’s been an issue for me is that I’ve wanted to set up a site to offer art services using custom forms and an ecommerce backend, and I haven’t found any easy solutions for putting this together yet. If I figure it out, I’ll probably set it up so that other artists can use it too.
